This section of the website is about the various military unit types and formations used in the 21st century. Each unit is usually divided into a number of infantry, vehicles and so fourth and is meant to cover a certain area. The smallest unit in infantry forces, for example, is the fireteam, which is usually 4-6 people. Fireteams are organized into squads, usually comprised of 8-12 people. There are fireteam leaders and squad leaders. 4 squads typically make up a platoon, so on and so fourth. The various ranks of enlisted and officer usually lead these formations and make tactical decisions based on their orders. This is how military forces function during battle. Each has their own purpose and goals, and their own strengths as well as limitations and weaknesses.
